What the course cover
Course Outcomes
By the end of the course candidates will be able to:
- Apply appropriate care skills when supporting people in the last weeks/ days of life
- Understand basic management of pain
- Appreciate how different cultures impact on needs in the last weeks/ days of life
- Understand the psychological process of loss and grief
- Adopt appropriate communication techniques with the dying person and significant people
- Appreciate the importance of looking after self when caring for the dying person
- Refer to the National Minimum Standards (Care Homes) – Care of the dying
